Kevin and Megan's love story began in North Carolina. Megan had just begun her master's program at UNC in Chapel Hill. Kevin was working at Duke University while actively applying to psychology PhD programs. Kevin and Megan met as any other modern day couple would -- Tinder! Upon texting, Megan discovered that Kevin's mother grew up in the same area as her, and he visits Lynchburg many times a year. After discovering they also share a love for a well-mixed margarita, Kevin offered to meet at the local BarTaco (exactly what it sounds like) on January 6, 2020. As expected, Megan arrived "fashionably late," and Kevin immediately revealed that he would not drink alcohol due to his participation in "Dry January." Why would he pick a tequila bar for their first date? Kevin loves to joke about Megan's "first date butterflies" as she accidentally threw her fork, butterknife, and cell phone onto the neighboring tables on multiple occasions. Luckily, Megan didn't throw her chances with Kevin, and they continued to see each other. Kevin and Megan made things official on March 28, 2020. In July 2020, after only a few months of dating, Kevin left NC to begin his PhD at George Mason in Fairfax, VA. After nearly a year of long distance, Megan joined Kevin in VA after graduating from UNC in June 2021. Exactly two years after their first date, Kevin planned a "date-versary" outing near their new home in Herndon, VA. What Megan did not know, was that Kevin was planning to ask her to marry him later that evening. While they were away at dinner, Kevin's family and friends were staging the perfect proposal. When they returned from dinner, Kevin pointed out a gazebo decorated in their path, but Megan still had no clue what was coming next. Soon, Megan began to wonder, "Did he do this for me?" Before she knew it, Kevin had dropped down on one knee. The next few minutes were filled with many tears, lots of "Oh My Gosh!", and the easiest "yes" of Megan's life!
